For those of you who love to walk the amazing landscapes around Cornwall taking in the breathtaking views over the cliff and beaches, we have listed below just a selection of walks around and about our area. If you require fuller details please contact Reception.
Walk 1
This walk starts from the Farmers Arms in St Merryn and takes you inland walking towards Treyarnon. Join the coastal path to Porthcothan then back inland towards Carnevas and Trehemborne Farm then you back on the route you came on.This walk is 6 miles long and will take you back to the Farmers Arms for a well deserved drink.
Walk 2
Join the Camel trial in Padstow that will take you on a 12mile flat walk to Wadebridge. There are lots of bikes and no shops until you reach Wadebridge where you’ll find there are lots of pubs and coffee shops, you could even do a little retail therapy in the shoe and clothes shops.
Walk 3
Starting in Wadebridge, you can join the cyclists down the camel trail which is a long flat walk running down the Camel Estuary taking you into Padstow for some lunch in the harbour or do what the cyclists can’t do and take yourself off track and visit St Breock Church, Polmorla working your way through woodland and open fields back to Wadebridge where there is plenty of shops to get refreshments.
Walk 4
Walking from Padstow Harbour out onto the coastal path where you can enjoy the fantastic views and visit the many coves on the route to stepper point. You can visit Hawkers Cove where the Padstow Life Boat was based from 1827 – 1967 and where the Boat House still remains. This walk has lots of things to see and visit and takes you around to Trevone Bay. Walking back takes you inland where it can be soggy under foot and will take you back to Padstow via the Prideaux Place which is well worth a visit.
